Westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Ingersoll has reopened after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

Const. Stacey Culbert says a Canadian Blood Services truck was in the middle lane when it made an unsafe lane change and struck the rear end of a transport truck.

The box portion of the truck then blew apart on impact, sending debris across all westbound lanes of traffic, OPP say.

Culbert says there was some minor clean up along the highway.

The Blood Services driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries while the driver of the transport truck was not hurt.

The driver of the Blood Services vehicle, Frank Calia, 45, of London, was charged with careless driving.
