Provincial police have reopened one westbound lane of Highway 402 between the 401 split and Colonel Talbot after a fatal crash.

The road was closed for clean up from a fuel leak from a fatal transport rollover Monday morning.

A male driver died after his transport hauling fuel rolled into the centre median on Highway 402 westbound, just west of the 401 split.

The collision occurred about 7:30 a.m. Monday as emergency crews got reports of a rolled transport with the driver pinned. OPP say he was ejected from his vehicle.

Upon arrival EMS determined the driver was showing no vital signs and he was pronounced dead on scene.

Police have identified him as 28-year-old Jagjit Singh Deol of Brampton.

HAZMAT was called in as well as ethanol and diesel fuel were leaking in the area. A specialized response is needed from the fire department's hazardous goods team to secure the loads.

Both the east and westbound 402 were closed throughout the day and into the evening.

The Ministry of the Environment has been called in.

Reconstruction experts with the OPP were piecing together what happened.
