A Hamilton man is facing several charges, following a stolen vehicle investigation.

Officers responded to Cromarty Drive, near Thames Centre Saturday around 3:30 a.m. for an attempted break and enter call. Upon arrival, police located a stolen pick-up truck from Hamilton in a ditch.

Through their investigation OPP say the suspect committed a second break-in at a residence on Brady Road, where the suspect allegedly stole a Toyota Camry. Police received several calls from the public about the stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was located around noon in Dorchester, where the suspect allegedly fled the scene. He was arrested a short time later.

Eric-Jan Kuijvenhoven is charged with:

  • Break and enter a place
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Driving while ability impaired
  • Possession of a schedule II substance under 30g
  • Two counts of possession of a schedule III substance

The suspect will appear in a London court at a future date.
