Friends of Lucas Johnson's family have set up a GoFundMe page in honour of the teen following his death.
The 16-year-old went missing Sunday while swimming near the pier in Kincardine in Lake Huron. His body was discovered by OPP divers Tuesday afternoon.
The fundraiser page was set up to help cover the costs of Johnson's funeral.
A statement on the page reads, "Though the pain is not over and won't be for some time, we are all thankful that he has been found and we can start our proper grieving process."
In 18 hours the page had already raised more than $4,400 of the page's $5,000 goal.
Tuesday evening friends and family gathered on the shores of Lake Huron to pay tribute to the life of Johnson.
This is the fourth drowning along the shores of Kincardine since 2008.
