A group of Goderich-based filmmakers can finally exhale. Five years of their lives come to fruition with the release of Turtle Power: The Definitive History of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The feature-length documentary about the comic book turtles that became a global sensation is in stores Tuesday.

Creaters Randall Lobb and Mark Hussey, and producer Isaac Elliott-Fisher - of Paris, Ont. - are the masterminds behind the documentary that chronicles the history of the creation of the Turtles - by accident - in 1984 to the popularity the franchise still enjoys today.

Like TMNT, Lobb, Hussey and Elliott-Fisher never imagined they’d complete a documentary now being distributed by Paramount Pictures.

Now after 80 interviews and 200 hours of footage that took them all over Northa America, the trio are big fans of the turtles.

The filmmakers are based out of Hussey’s basement, but have garnered a reputation for excellent work that helped them open doors they never thought possible.

Lobb says "We're compelling I guess because we were convincing people way above our pay grade to talk to us."

The trio are excited to see their project on store shelves, and hope people will want a copy to keep on their shelves at home.
