London police say a man is facing charges after a gas meter was reportedly tampered with at a northwest London home.

Officers were called to a home on Aldersbrook Road on Monday morning after a Union Gas employee reported that the gas meter to the home had been tampered with, allowing a slow leak of gas.

A neighbour had detected an odour of natural gas while walking his dog and called Union Gas.

There had also been a small fire at the meter recently.

According to police, one of the people living in the home had been threatened the day before the leak was discovered.

As a result of the investigation, Craig Morris, 26, of London, has been charged with:

  • utter death threats
  • utter threats to property
  • mischief endangering life
  • arson – disregard for human life

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
