A garbage truck rolled over on Highway 402 at Oil Heritage Road, temporarily closing the westbound lanes of the highway on Friday morning.

Lambton County OPP, local fire crews and EMS were called to the scene of the single-vehicle collision around 8 a.m. Friday.

Police say athe Mack truck fully loaded with garbage failed to negotiate the ramp from Oil Heritage Road onto the westbound 402.

The driver of the truck, a 43-year-old Alliston man, was transported to a London hospital in serious condition.

The highway reopened shortly before the noon hour, but some lane restrictions are in place as the cleanup and investigation continues.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators and the Ministry of Transportation are trying to determine the cause of the crash.
