Friends of a Perth County family injured in head-on collision near Stratford two weeks ago are organizing a fundraiser for the family of seven.

Several of the Bakers were seriously injured when they were part of a two-vehicle crash on Embro Road south of Stratford on July 20th.

Mom Sandra Baker, who was most severely injured, was finally transferred from London to Stratford's hospital on Thursday, so she can be closer to her husband and children as she recovers.

The driver of the car that police say crossed the centre line and struck their van has been charged with impaired driving.

After suffering several broken and crushed bones, friends say members of the Baker family have a long recovery in front of them, not only physically but mentally.

They’re looking for people to help them with a fundraising concert at noon on Sunday, Sept. 7th at the RBC hall in Stratford, where they hope raise money not only for the Bakers but for the child passenger in the car that was also critically injured.

They intend to use the event to discuss road safety as well.
