Investigators are warning the public about a telephone scam where the caller poses as someone with the London Police Service.

The caller introduces themselves to the victim as a representative with the police service, who is seeking funds to combat bullying. The victim is asked to donate $100 to $150 towards the cause, and then asks for credit card information.

London police says they don’t solicit funds or use a third party to do so.

Residents are reminded to never provide personal information over the phone or Internet, unless they initiate the conversation.

Anyone with additional information about the calls is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
