South Bruce OPP are investigating after a head-on crash in Huron Township that sent five people to hospital, including two children.

OPP say they received a report of a crash on Highway 21 around 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police, EMS and fire crews responded and found a southbound white Infiniti QX4 had crossed the centre line and struck a northbound black BMW 325i.

Two people in the Infinity and three people in the BMW were transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but the roads were snow-covered and slushy at the time of the crash.

The road reopened to traffic early Thursday morning.
