London police say charges have been laid and a second suspect is being sought after a man died in hospital following an assault on Baseline Road.

Police were called to an apartment at 297 Baseline Rd. W. around 10:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a man injured in an assault.

Officers found 29-year-old James Cameron Willits suffering from head injuries sustained in the alleged assault. He underwent emergency surgery, but later died.

Ronald Travis Chrisjohn, 30, of London has now been charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody.

Police are looking for 22-year-old Steven Barry Antone of London on charges of second-degree murder and robbery.

He is described as being of First Nations descent, 5'9" tall, about 150 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was clean-shaven at the time of the incident.

Police say he should be considered dangerous and should not be approached, and anyone with information on his location should call 911.

Investigators continue to look at the involvement of a third male, who is not being identified at this time.

Police say all parties are known to each other and the incident is not believed to have been a random attack.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place Tuesday morning at the London Health Sciences Centre.

The London Police Service continues to investigate and anyone with information is asked to call 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The death is London's first homicide of the year.
