Firefighters revived an unconscious man after a house fire in Woodstock early Wednesday morning.

Officials say the man was found by firefighters in the home on Hunter Street.

Firefighters were able to get a pulse after performing CPR and he was taken to Woodstock General but has since been transferred to a hospital in Toronto.

Neighbours say he had recently purchased the home.

One neighbour told CTV News that police banged on her door around 4:30 a.m. to alert them about the fire.

The home was engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's office is investigating.

A cause has yet to be determined, but officials say it is not suspicious.

An early estimate by the fire department suggests damage totals around $150,000.

No one else was in the home or reported injured.
