Officials continue to investigate a suspicious overnight fire that destroyed the Seaforth Foodland location.

Seaforth, Clinton and Mitchell Fire Department firefighters, along with Huron County OPP, responded to the blaze just before 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Crews managed to contain the fire to the Foodland building, but damage is extensive.

An estimate is not available at this time and a cause is still unknown.

No one was inside the building at the time of the fire and nobody was hurt.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been contacted to assist with the investigation.

Main Street South remains closed between Crombie Street and John Street to allow crews to investigate.
