London police are investigating after a 71-year-old female pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in the White Oaks Area.

EMS confirmed for CTV News that the patient was taken to hospital with no vital signs. London Police say she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The collision occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Wellington Road just north of Bradley Avenue.

Police say a vehicle was travelling southbound on Wellington Road and struck a pedestrian that was attempting to cross at an uncontrolled portion of the roadway.

The woman has since been identified as Sigrun Schulz of London.

Wellington Street at Bradley was closed for several hours overnight.

The investigation is continuing by members of the traffic management unit.
