The new Centre for Digital and Performance Arts at Fanshawe College will start to welcome students when the school’s winter term begins in January.

Originally scheduled to open in the fall, construction delays have hindered the completion of the new campus on Dundas Street, just west of Richmond Street.

The college says construction is expected to be complete by mid- to late-October, but finishing touches are still needed.

Fanshawe released a statement saying waiting until the winter term is the best solution because “it poses the least amount of possible disruption to students and their studies.”

The Centre for Digital and Performance Arts is the first phase in Fanshawe’s planned expansion in London’s downtown core.

The school recently announced plans to purchase the Market Tower in order to add new programs and bring more students to the city’s core.
