Fanshawe College has signed a four-year agreement with an institute in Peru, saying it will improve international relations in education between Canada and Peru.

The partnership agreement is with the College and the Armed Forces Public Technological Institute of Peru and it allows the two schools to work together.

Fanshawe will provide an intensive leadership program in Canada to the institute’s leaders and academics, who will then train 55 faculty members in Peru.

“This new agreement will have a significant impact on international relations for post-secondary education between our two countries,” said Fanshawe President Peter Devlin.

“Our partnership with Peru allows Fanshawe to broaden its global reach to new geographic areas of opportunity.”

Graduates of the institute will also receive a diploma from Fanshawe and credentials from the college for each year they complete their program.

The Armed Forces Public Technological Institute of Peru opened in June 2015 to meet the country’s demands for professional technicians in the production sector.
