Fanshawe College has unveiled a new look for its logo and a new slogan 'to educate, engage, empower and excite.'

College President Peter Devlin announced the new logo and brand on Wednesday morning.

Devlin says the new brand focuses on Fanshawe’s desire to help students reach their full potential.

"Fanshawe has been the go-to place for successfully navigating change for almost 50 years," Devlin said. "Our look may have changed, but our commitment to unlocking the potential of students, staff, alumni, businesses and communities continues as strong as ever."

Dubbed ‘Northstar,’ the logo was preferred two to one over all other concepts in a survey. The logo has been described as “bold, innovative and distinctive.”

The rebranding process started during the summer of 2013 and involved input from more than 6,000 prospective and current students, staff, alumni, guidance counsellors, business and academic leaders, government and community partners.

This is the first rebranding exercise the college has undertaken since 1981, when the image of four stylized Fs was created to represent the four counties served by Fanshawe campuses.
