A 19-year-old Straffordville man is in serious condition but stable condition after falling off the trunk of a moving vehicle.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on Plank Road at the entrance to the Straffordville Public School.

Elgin County OPP say a Buick Regal being driven by a 17-year-old youth with a 20-year-old male passenger was southbound on Plank Road.

It has reportedly travelled about 50 metres at about 40 kilometres per hour with a 20-year-old and 19-year-old Bayham Township males sitting on the trunk.

But when the vehicle turned into the entrance of the Straffordville Public School, the younger male fell off and suffered serious injuries.

He was transported to Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital before being transferred to the London Health Sciences Centre where he is in serious but stable condition.

An investigation into the incident continues.
