Wild weather: Monsoon rains, heavy snow and devastating fire

Five days of monsoon rain caused severe flooding in Malaysia, killing more than 30 people. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced.

Officials say parts of Malaysia received as much rain in five days as the previous six months combined.

Many roads, homes and public buildings suffered significant damage.

Wildfires broke out near the iconic community of Malibu, California earlier this week.

The “Franklin Fire” forced evacuation orders and warnings after exploding in size early in the week.

Nearly three-thousand acres and an unknown number of homes have been burned as of Tuesday night.

The cause of the fire is still unknown, but it’s being fueled by strong Santa Ana winds and low humidity.

Extreme cold settled over the U.S. northeast and stretched down towards Texas, prompting weather alerts for millions of Americans.

In some areas, the cold has been combined with heavy snow.

A race was on in Erie, Pennsylvania to clear thousands of pounds of snow off a firehouse roof that was caving in and threatening to collapse.
