London police say two men have been charged after a loaded gun and over $11,000 in drugs and cash were seized from vehicles on Monday.

Around 1:40 p.m., the drivers of two vehicles were arrested in the area Wilkins Street and Sandringham Crescent as part of a drug investigation. There were no passengers in the vehicles.

Following a search of the vehicles, police seized:

  • 34.9 g of cocaine valued at $3,480
  • 1.9 g of marijuana valued at $20
  • one 40mg oxycontin valued at $20
  • approximately $8,000 cash
  • Justright Carbine Semi-Automatic 9mm assault rifle
  • three 9mm assault rifle magazines
  • over 300 rounds of ammunition

The vehicles themselves were also seized, a 2002 Acura RSX valued at $2,000 and a 2014 Dodge Caravan valued at $20,000.

Two London men have been charged as a result of the investigation.

Youssiff Habash, 31, of London has been charged with possessing a Schedule II substance and possessing a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Ali Bhatti, 20, also of London, is facing 14 charges related to the firearm and ammunition, as well as unlawfully possessing a Schedule I substance and possessing a Schedule II substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Both were being held in custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday.
