Middlesex OPP are investigating a single vehicle crash that sent a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to Adelaide Street, north of Fourteen Mile Road.

Police say a Jeep was travelling northbound on Adelaide when it left the roadway, entered a ditch, struck a laneway, became airborne and came to rest in a field on its passenger side.

The driver and lone occupant, a 44-year-old man from Lucan-Biddulph was thrown from the Jeep and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

His current condition is not known.
