A male driver who failed to stop for police early Monday morning has been arrested after a pursuit both on wheels and on foot.

Huron OPP were called just before 7 a.m. about a suspicious vehicle near a farm supply business in Londesborough.

The vehicle was located just north of the area and oficers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver reportedly failed to stop for police and proceeded to travel northbound through Blyth on London Road.

Between Moncrieff Road and St. Michael’s Road the the suspect vehicle collided with a Honda CR-V that had pulled over for the police vehicles, landing in a snowbank in the east ditch.

The suspect immediately exited his vehicle and tried to escape on foot, but police say he was arrested after a short foot chase.

The female driver of the Honda was transported to hospital with minor injuries and has since been released.

The fleeing male driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

He is being held in police custody with charges expected to follow.

London Road was closed following the collision but has since reopened.
