A Mississauga truck driver has been charged with careless driving after a collision on the Blue Water Bridge at Sarnia.

Police say two transport trucks carrying chemicals were crossing the bridge Wednesday night, when one of the trucks rear-ended the other, which had been stopped in line awaiting entry to Canada.

OPP Constable Todd Monaghan says the collision led to a leak of potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide, which forced a parking lot under the bridge to be evacuated as a precaution.

Forty-seven-year-old Karamjit Deol is charged with careless driving.
