Huron County OPP have charged a 46-year-old Lucknow man after he was stopped for allegedly speeding and texting and was then found to be impaired.

An officer spotted a black Ford F-150 speeding on Brussels Line near Moncrieff Road around 7:45 p.m. on Monday.

The vehicle was clocked at 125 kilometres per hour in a 90 zone, and the officer also alleges the man was texting on his cell phone.

The officer stopped the vehicle and found the driver appeared to be impaired. He was then arrested and transported back to the station for tests.

Two breath tests found the man was above the legal limit.

Ross Pickard has been charged with impaired driving, driving over 80, driving while using hand-held device and speeding.

His licence was automatically suspended for 90 days and his pickup was impounded for seven days.

Pickard is scheduled to appear in court in Goderich on August 19th.
