A 24-year-old Crediton man has been arrested and charged following a stabbing incident in Exeter.

Just before midnight Friday, Huron OPP were called to a home on Carling Street.

Once on scene, police found a 19-year-old man who had been stabbed in the leg with a knife by a guest at the house party.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

He was later transferred to a London hospital where he is recovering with non-life threatening injuries.

Initially, the accused fled the scene but he eventually returned and was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect is charged with aggravated assault and unauthorized possession of a weapon - a butterfly knife.

He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday in Goderich.
