A crash between a tractor trailer and a car Monday morning sent one male to hospital by air ambulance.

Emergency crews were called to Evelyn Drive and Fairview Road, northeast of London, about 6:15 a.m.

A 40-year-old man had to be extricated from his vehicle and EMS crews had a difficult time freeing him.

He has serious injuries.

Police say the truck proceeded through a stop sign on Fairview Road and into the path of a car on Evelyn Drive. The car rolled several times.

The 50-year-old driver of the tractor trailer, Robert Stoner of Strathroy-Caradoc, has been charged with careless driving.

The intersection was closed until 10:30 a.m.
