Police say a Chatham man has been arrested months after allegedly violating a probation order.

Chatham-Kent police say the 26-year-old man received the two-year probation in May 2012, for numerous domestic-related convictions. One of the orders conditions prohibited the man from associating or contacting the victim directly or indirectly, unless legal counsel was present.

Police say they issued a warrant for his arrest for breach of probation, when their investigation revealed the accused allegedly communicated with the victim several times between June 2012 and July 2012.

Police located the man on Thursday at a Gregory Drive address in Chatham.

Police say he was charged with 10 counts of breach of probation.

The man is in custody pending a bail hearing.
