Middlesex OPP charged a 20-year-old man with several offences after a chase through a wheat field Saturday.
Police say three vehicles travelling at a high rate of speed were heading north on Richmond Street near Medway Road when spotted by officers around 1 a.m.
Police attempted to pull them over, but only two of the vehicles stopped. A blue Volkswagen drove off the road on Eight Mile Road and into a wheat field.
Three people were seen running from the car, but were caught by police.
It was determined that the male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and taken for breath tests.
A 20-year-old from Middlesex Centre is charged with driving while ability impaired, driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, dangerous operation of motor vehicle, and fail to stop at scene of accident.
