Stratford Police say charges are pending in connection with a crash that left one man with serious injuries.

The collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, at Erie Street – also known as Highway 7 – and Lorne Avenue.

Police say it involved a car that crossed several lanes of traffic on Erie Street, and ended up hitting a transport truck that had just turned onto Erie from Lorne.

The driver of the car was airlifted to a hospital in London in critical condition.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The driver of the car suffered serious injuries and was transported to Stratford General Hospital but was later airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London.

Police estimate damage to the two vehicles at between $50,000 and $60,000.
