Perth County OPP say an 18-year-old driver has been charged in a single-car crash in June that injured nine teenagers.

Jacob Paterson, 18, of Stratford, has been charged with careless driving, G2 licence with blood alcohol content above zero, G2 licence with more passengers than seatbelts and person under 19 consuming liquor.

Officers were called to a crash on Perth Road 131 near Line 59 south of Milverton early on Saturday, June 29th.

A Cavalier carrying nine teens, including two 15-year-old males in the trunk, was northbound on Perth Road 131 when it left the road, spun into the ditch, rolled and landed upright.

All the passengers in the car, ranging from 15 to 18 years old, were transported to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Paterson is expected to appear in court on August 13th.
