A bomb threat that prompted the evacuation of businesses and road closures in the Huron Street and Clarke Road area on Wednesday has resulted in charges.

Officers were called to the area around 1 a.m. for a report of a distraught male who allegedly had explosive devices.

A 44-year-old man was taken into custody and the London police explosive disposal unit was called in to clear the area.

A package found in the man's vehicle was disrupted by police but nothing suspicious was found.

As a result of the incident, Dale Ashe is charged with obstructing police, threatening to destroy property, uttering threats to cause death, four counts of mischief and resisting arrest.
