Big changes may be coming next year to garbage collection in London.

City staff members are looking to other cities for ideas to improve waste collection.

Next month a report will outline potential changes including eliminating the garbage calendar in favour of a fixed collection day every week.

“Why are we taking something off the table. It’ hasn’t been decided,” says Mayor Joe Fontana. “We’ll look at it November 25th and decide what we want to do with it then.”

Staff will also provide information on privatizing garbage collection and instituting a pay-per bag system of tags.
