It took firefighters roughly three hours to bring a large house fire under control in Dresden Ontario Monday.

Officials arrived on scene at Brown Street to find large amounts of smoke billowing from the home. The smoke made firefighting operations difficult leading to the calling in of additional units from Tupperville.

Damage to the home is estimated to be $150,000. There was some exposure to neighbouring homes, but damage extent is unclear.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Chatham-Kent fire investigators and police.
