South Bruce OPP say a 22-year-old man has died after the horse-drawn wagon he was driving was struck from behind by a car on Tuesday evening.

The two-vehicle collision happened around 9 p.m. on Bruce Road 7 between Concession 2 and Concession 4 in Huron-Kinloss.

The buggy, which was carrying a load of lumber, was northbound when it was hit by a Ford Taurus travelling in the same direction.

The wagon’s driver, identified as Leroy Brubacher of Huron-Kinloss, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 35-year-old Ripley man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

An investigation into the collision continues, but Bruce Road 7 was reopened around 11 a.m.
