Former London Knight Brandon Prust was on hand in London Monday to make a large donation supporting free vision screening for young children to prevent permanent vision damage.

A gift of $100,000 from the Brandon Prust Foundation was made through St. Joseph’s Health Care in support of Ivey Special Eye Examination Services (iSee) program.

The iSee program aims to examine photoscreening as a useful and rapid tool to identify eye conditions in young children, such as amblyopia or “lazy eye.” It takes only a few seconds to screen a child.

The Brandon Prust Foundation was created in 2014 with a mission to improve kids’ lives, helping them to be happier and healthier through funding events, programs and activities.

Prust played in the NHL with the Calgary Flames, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks.
