One person has been found dead in the rubble of a North Perth home that was gutted by fire Thursday.

The person was found late Friday morning.

Information on their identity was not immediately available.

A neighbour reported the fire at the home on Arthur Avenue in Trowbridge, south of Listowel, shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday.

The flames grew quickly. It took two hours before firefighters were able to bring them under control.

The owner of the property, said by friends to be a masonry worker named Jimmy with three children, has not been seen since the fire broke out.

Friends and family members of the homeowner spent time at the site Thursday and again Friday, watching investigators examine the debris.
