Mother Nature is once again causing major problems across southwestern and mid-western Ontario.

Although, only 5 to 10 cm of snow has actually fallen, the real issue Saturday morning were the high winds, resulting in blowing snow and poor visibility.

Environment Canada has issued a blowing snow warning for London-Middlesex, Oxford-Brant, Huron-Perth and Grey-Bruce.

This has resulted in numerous road closures across the region including:

  • All roads in Huron and Bruce County
  • Highway 21 - Kincardine to Port Elgin in both directions.
  • Highway 9 - Kincardine to Walkerton in both directions
  • Bruce County Road # 15 - Tiverton (King Street) to Inverhuron (Albert Rd) in both directions
  • Bruce County Road 86 - Highway 21 (Amberley) to London Rd (Wingham) in both directions
  • Highway 6 - Wiarton to Tobermory

Unfortunately, we're not out of the woods just yet.

Roughly another 5 to 10 cm is expected to fall Sunday with gusty winds, creating more dangerous conditions on area roads.
