The investigation into the death of London's third homicide of 2016 continues.

An autopsy began Monday on Nathan Deslippe, 27, to determine a cause of death. It is continuing into Tuesday.

A longtime friend of his, William Joles, 27, has been charged with second degree murder in the case.

Deslippe was found unresponsive at around 10 a.m. Sunday morning following a 911 call at 323 Colborne St.

Upon arrival, they located the body of Deslippe within one of the apartment units there.

A second man present at the time was arrested and is facing several charges.

Joles has been charged with second degree murder.

Joles is also charged with one count each of forcible confinement, assault and uttering threats to case death against a second individual.

These charges stem from a related event at the same location.

An autopsy will be conducted Monday at London Health Sciences Centre.

Deslippe's family says Joles had been staying at the Colbourne Street apartment, but police will only confirm the pair were 'known to each other'.

Nathan's mother, Mona, told CTV News by telephone that Joles had recently returned from the west, and had turned to Nathan for help.

"So he had Will (Joles) come back and live with him, and get job interviews. So it looked as though things were going to be back on track for Will (Joles), so I don't know what happened."

Meanwhile, Deslippe's family released a statement through London Police on Tuesday.

“Nathan Deslippe was a beautiful kind caring soul who wanted only to help and motivate people. He inspired so many with his mentoring, guidance, encouragement, support and personal example.  His death is a tragedy. We are so sad to have lost a young man who had so much potential and meant a lot to so many people. The posts to his Facebook page are overwhelming in describing the son that we love so much. Nathan loved his family, his dog Gyzmo and his many friends. He excelled at his work at Voices.com, MLD Solutions Inc., Yoga Shack, and his leadership businesses. He achieved so much in his short time including his yoga certification, John Maxwell certification and more. Nathan Deslippe is a bright light that has been dimmed but will always be remembered.”

Deslippe’s friends and family took to social media on Monday to share their comments and condolences.

“The world lost such a bright, loving and positive person today,” said Brian Hare on Facebook.

“Your positive reinforcement and motivation to become a better person everyday was inspiring. The good truly do die young.” writes Cristian Kawa.

“Very sorry to hear about the passing of a former student,” posted Paul Williams. “Very sad news.”
