Ashley is a graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) and holds a Bachelors of Journalism degree. She got her start in journalism writing for KPU's student newspaper The Runner where she focused on local news, human interest stories and investigative features. During her career, she has interviewed a number of remarkable individuals, including Indigenous advocates, journalists, academics, politicians, LGBTQ2S activists, law enforcement and convicted criminals.

For her work with The Runner, she was awarded the Youth Media Award from Amnesty International Canada and the John H. MacDonald Award for her investigative feature on missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

Shortly after graduating university, Ashley worked as a teleprompter operator for CTV Morning Live in Vancouver, B.C. and was later promoted to associate producer of CTV News Vancouver's consumer news segment McLaughlin On Your Side.

After 10 moves across the country, Ashley has settled in London, Ont. with her husband Justin and is a web writer at CTV News London. In her spare time, she loves travelling, baking, photography, and cracking witty jokes (much to her husband's annoyance).

Ashley speaks English.
