In less than five years Arcane London is set to undergo a large expansion, adding dozens of new staff and a new space.

London Mayor Matt Brown toured Arcane Tuesday, though the full-service digital marketing agency in downtown London is already renovating a new location.

John D'Orsay, VP and CTO of Arcane says, "We will be out of space in another five or ten minutes...so we are here for a little while but we can't stop the growth right now."

Like many technology companies Arcane will be expanding into a larger building downtown this September.

The company is renovating the former Harmony Buffet  builidng on York Street. The new facility will be called The Cube, and with 30,000 square feet there will be a lot of room for expansion

Tech companies restoring vacant old buildings is great news, says Janette MacDonald of Downtown London.

"That's the type of environment they want to work in. They want to work in open space that's got exposed brick, hardwood floors, big windows, and they don't need anything more, so the fact we have them in London and in the downtown is amazing for us."

Another advantage that's driving more and more tech companies downtown is the new fibre optic connection in the core.

Brown explains, "The high-speed Internet that can be accessed through a grant program in our downtown core, that's really the first step of a number of things I think you'll see in the coming years.

Arcane hired 10 new staff memebers just in this past week, bringing the total staff to 55, but that number is expected to quickly double.

The company also works closely with Fanshawe College, with 80 per cent of staff being Fanshawe graduates.

Eric Vardon, CEO of Arcane, says, "From developers and designers, to strategists and business people, we love young talent and being able to nurture and foster them, that's what Arcane is all about."
