An ambulance was involved in a crash in north London that sent two people to hospital.

The crash happened just after 12:30 Saturday, September 17th, 2016 at the intersection of Fanshawe Park Road and Richmond Street.

A Middlesex-London EMS ambulance was responding to an emergency call at the time, and was travelling with its lights and sirens activated. Police say it was initially headed northbound, before turning westbound on Fanshawe Park Road, where it was struck by southbound Toyota.

Two paramedics were in the ambulance, but they did not have a patient on board. The paramedic on the passenger side was taken to hospital, as well as the driver and lone occupant of the car. Both sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Police say charges are pending against the 62-year-old London man driving the car.
