It's a little known London-based charity that financially helps men and women fighting cancer.
Assess Cancer Therapies Now addresses a shortfall in public health care.
For Dr. Kylea Potvin, helping those stricken with cancer is a lifetime passion. As an oncologist at the London Regional Cancer Centre can be difficult at times, but when the patients she's helping can't afford the proper medication its even more heart breaking.
"She was a woman who had breast cancer and the drug she needed was only approved for other cancers," says Potvin. "By the time her family showed up with the money it was too late. She died."
Three years ago Potvin and other started a new kind of charity.
"It really helps. It's called act now," says Potvin.
The main fundraiser for ACT Now is coming up on June 10.
Potvin says people can come to play gold or tennis or for dinner.
