A 39-year-old man involved in a single-vehicle accident Friday night in West Elgin, is in critical condition in London Health Sciences Centre.
Elgin County said a Chrysler Sebring travelling south on Kerr Road left the roadway, went into a ditch and struck a hydro pole.
The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, was extricated by West Elgin firefighters.
He was taken to Four Counties Hospital in Newbury and transferred to London.
OPP said the accident happened just after 10:30 on Kerr Road, south of Thompson Line.
The investigation continues.
