Elgin County OPP have identified a 73-year-old man who died after a collision on Highway 401 between West Lorne and Dutton.

On Saturday at 1:53 p.m., emergency crews responded to the fatal crash on the 401 westbound, between Graham Road and Currie Road.

Nejat Gorica, from Oakville, suffered life-threatening injuries, and died at the scene, according to police.

Police say a Gorica was driving a Buick travelling eastbound on Highway 401, when it left the roadway and crossed over the centre grass median.  The Buick struck a black Ford pickup truck, which was travelling westbound on Highway 401, in the centre lane.

The occupants of the Ford, both from Fonthill, Ont., suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The 70-year-old male driver was transported by air ambulance, and his 68-year-old female passenger was transported by land ambulance to hospital. Their current health status has not been disclosed.

The incident is still under investigation.
