39-year-old man dies after crash in West Elgin
Provincial police say they began investigating last month after hearing from other law enforcement agencies that drugs were being imported in vehicles shipped to Canada by rail.
A 39-year-old West Elgin man has died after a single-vehicle crash on Friday night.
Kevin Wrobel passed away Tuesday morning as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision on Kerr Road, just south of Thompson Line in West Elgin at 10:40 p.m. Friday.
Elgin OPP say Wrobel was the driver and lone occupant when the 2002 Chrysler Sebring left the roadway and struck a hydro pole on the passenger side of the vehicle.
He had to be extricated from the vehicle by the West Elgin Fire Services. Wrobel was transported by land ambulance to Four Counties Hospital in Newbury and later transferred to London Health Sciences Centre.
The investigation is continuing.
