A motorcycle collision south of Goderich claimed the life of a 21-year-old man Sunday afternoon.

According to Huron County OPP police were called to the intersection of Mill Round and Goshen Line around 4:30 p.m. after a citizen found a motorcycle and its rider in a corn field.

According to officials the motorcyclist had been in the field for an extended period of time. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the motorcycle had been travelling north on Goshen Line when it collided with a road sign. The rider and the motorcycle ended up in the corn field following the impact.

Police have identified the deceased rider as 21-year-old Zachary James MacLean of Goderich.

OPP continue to investigate the incident.
