More than 500 people took part in the 15th annual International Women's Day Breakfast and Auction on Thursday.

The event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the London Abused Women's Centre.

Organizers were looking to make over $60,000, all of which goes back to front-line work assisting battered women.

The event was hosted by CTV London anchor Tara Overholt, and featured a keynote speech by Jasmine, a former prostitute who is now an advocate for sex-trade workers.

She joins the LAWC in trying to dispel the myth that trafficking of women only happens overseas, not in North America.
