A St. Thomas woman apparently wasn’t as sly as the snake around her neck.
Police say the 19-year-old was seen walking down Talbot Street Thursday with a red-tail boa constrictor slithering around her.
They say the woman had just purchased the snake from Kijiji and was on her way to a pet store to purchase food for it.
Police say she was lucky that she did not become the food.
They also remind people to check by-laws about exotic pets because some municipalities do not permit them.
Venomous snakes and those longer than 60 centimetres are prohibited in St. Thomas.
