Oxford County OPP have charged a 61-year-old London woman for illegally solemnizing a marriage in June 2013.
Following an investigation that began in August, Dale Reade, who police say performed the ceremony under the name Dale Brewster, is facing several charges.
The former operator of the Crystal Wedding Chapel in London is facing four counts including:
- pretending to solemnize marriage without lawful authority
- fraud under $5,000
- uttering forged document
- personation with Intent – intent to gain advantage (identity fraud)
She was released on a promise to appear and is expected in a Woodstock court in November.
This is not the first time Reade has faced similar charges, according to media reports, in January she was facing 11 charges in five similar cases.
