A two-vehicle crash on Perth Line 93 west of Road 146 has sent both drivers to hospital with serious injuries.

Perth OPP were called the scene between Palmerston and Teviotdale around 3:45 p.m. Thursday for reports of a crash.

Investigators say a Chrysler minivan was southbound on Green Lane and stopped at the stop sign at Perth Line 93.

When it proceeded toward a private drivway across from Green lane, police say it failed to see an eastbound Chrysler car and the vehicles collided.

The driver of the minivan, 81-year-old Roy Atkinson of North Perth was transported to hospital and has been transferred to a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, Sharon Bowden, 63 was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

An investigation into the cause of the collision continues, and police say road and weather conditions were ideal at the time of the collision.

Perth Line 93 from Road 146 to Line 92 was closed to traffic from the time of the collision until approximately 10 p.m.
